Hi, I’m Lisa, and I’m so glad you’re here. We may have just met but I feel like we’re a couple of old girlfriends. You’re a wife living in the ‘burbs, most likely a former fun-loving city girl in your younger years, and now, quite surprisingly, loving and embracing the new lifestyle you find yourself leading.
You enjoy cooking and finding new, delicious recipes, so long as they’re not too insanely complex and don’t require you to purchase ingredients from Zanzibar that you can only buy online. You aspire to build an effortless, classic wardrobe that makes you look and feel amazeballs from season to season. You strive to balance the demands on your time between family, friends, work, health, home and the pursuit of happiness. And at the base of it all, you’re a modern woman who can laugh at the ridiculousness of life and keep it real.
Suburban AF started originally as Becker it Yourself, a space to share a love for DIYs inspired by my absolutely amazing late grandmother, Charlotte Becker. While I (and my husband) have come to terms with the fact that DIYs will always be a part of my life, the aim of Suburban AF is to encompass all aspects of modern life – friends, family, home, food, fashion, fitness, health/beauty and the generally hilarious nature that accompanies life in the ‘burbs/life after 30.
So what can you expect to find on Suburban AF in the coming weeks and months?
Please click here to get in touch with me. Otherwise, go ahead and start with making some DIY Coffee Filter Peonies, whip up a delicious bowl of Best Ever Mac & Cheese or read Tieks: The Real Deal that answers the question of whether the juice is worth the squeeze for these on-trend, comfy flats.
I hope you will love reading Suburban A.F. as much as I enjoy writing and sharing it with you!
