5 Make-at-Home Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipes

First and foremost, my apologies to everyone that I have been shirking my weekly blogging duties recently.  I’m totes going to play the pregnancy card and say that somehow this tiny baby has reduced me from a ruthlessly efficient force to be reckoned with to a completely emotional, overwhelmed and exhausted shell of my former self as of late.  Really, all the more reason why this post really resonates with me not only because it’s truly a seasonal delight but because mama needs her caffeine ok, like NOW, please and thank you.

In the fall, you don’t have to look far to find pumpkin spice everything from lattes to cakes and muffins to ice cream and everything in between.  Love love love love it!  I’d be lying if I said I’ve never had pumpkin pie for my birthday…in April.  That said, it’s far harder to find a wealth of pumpkin spice treats any other time of year so it’s practically a holiday in itself when it’s in season.  Perhaps chief of them all is the almighty pumpkin spice latte – all hail!

If you love PSLs like I do but hate stopping by your local coffee shop and paying upwards of $5 every time you want to indulge in this delicious fall treat, you’ll be happy to discover that it’s actually doesn’t have to be difficult, time-consuming OR expensive to make your very own PSLs at home.  Yes really!  I’ve rounded up 5 absolutely delicious, completely different takes on make-at-home PSLs you can try today with just a few simple ingredients.  With no further ado, let’s bring on the pumpkin spice.

Super Simple Pumpkin Spice Latte

This array of PSL recipes by Trying and Thriving is a great introduction to the world of make-at-home pumpkin spice lattes.  My personal favorite on this list given that it’s still very good AND the absolute quickest and easiest to prepare is the Super Simple Pumpkin Spice Latte.  If you’re a newbie and/or uncertain whether you have the patience to try to reproduce this treat at home, definitely start here.

Pumpkin Spice Creamer Latte

This easy at-home pumpkin spice latte recipe by Greatist involves making a pumpkin spice creamer in advance that you can store in your fridge and keep at the ready to create quick and easy PSLs on the go.  This recipe does take a bit more prep time than the super simple PSL recipe listed above but assuming you make the creamer ahead of time, it can be extremely easy to use and access for your daily treat, even on the busiest of mornings.

Pumpkin Spice Syrup Latte

This at-home pumpkin spice latte recipe by Tiaras and Tantrums  involves making a pumpkin spice syrup (vs creamer) for a crazy delicious taste and consistency most similar to the Dunkin’ Donuts PSL for all of you DD fans out there.  Similarly to the PSL creamer above, you can make a batch of this PSL syrup in advance and store in your fridge for up to a month for a great many PSL-loving mornings.

Caramel Pumpkin Spice Latte

If you’re ready to try one of the best flavor combinations ever to exist, give this caramel pumpkin spice latte by Queenslee Appetit a try!  Now, to be perfectly transparent, this recipe is a bit more time-consuming to prepare than the others and hence likely a better choice for a lazy weekend day vs a busy weekday morning when you’re already trying to do 25 different things at once.  All the same, very delicious and worth the effort!

Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Latte

Just when you thought pumpkin spice couldn’t get any more delicious, just try combining it with cheesecake flavoring to take it to a completely other level.  Now, to be fair, I was really searching high and low for an easy recipe that incorporated real cream cheese but this DIY recipe using a few quick pumps of Torani syrups could not be any easier.  As the recipe specifies, shots of espresso would be best *but* if you don’t happen to have an at-home espresso maker, just use regular old coffee like I did and I promise you’ll still get a delicious end result.

So there you have it, making a delicious pumpkin spice latte doesn’t have to involve making a trip to a fancy coffee shop or spending $5+ per cup.  I hope you’ll enjoy these 5 easy make-at-home pumpkin spice latte variations as much as I did and will continue to create your own variations to suit your personal preferences.
